For us, being hoteliers also means taking care of the environment in which we are present. We understand sustainability as a way of doing things with more awareness, more responsibility and a long-term vision. It is not just about reducing impacts, but about moving towards a way of managing our hotels that is more respectful of resources, more efficient and more connected with the places we inhabit.

Actions that make a difference

Solar self-consumption

We promote photovoltaic energy projects at Hotel Princesa de Éboli, Hotel Canal Olímpic and Hotel Rey Arturo to move towards a more efficient model and reduce the environmental impact of our activity.

Energy efficiency

We continue to implement improvements aimed at optimising energy consumption, with specific actions at Hotel Corona de Castilla, Hotel Princesa de Éboli, Hotel Canal Olímpic and Hotel Rey Arturo.

Sustainable architecture

We are working on the refurbishment of facades and the improvement of the thermal envelope of various buildings to promote greater efficiency and limit the carbon footprint.

We have filtered water systems at Hotel Corona de Castilla, Hotel Princesa de Éboli, Hotel Canal Olímpic and Hotel Rey Arturo that help reduce waste, eliminate microplastics and minimise the use of single-use packaging associated with daily consumption.

Goodbye to plastic

We are making progress in the gradual elimination of single-use plastics and promoting more sustainable alternatives, such as the use of reusable glass bottles in our restaurants.

A path we walk together

Thanks to the support of the European Union’s Next Generation Funds and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, we continue to develop improvements linked to energy efficiency and the circular economy. A path of constant evolution through which we aim to make Corona Hotels’ hospitality increasingly more conscious, more efficient and more respectful.

Subsidies

Subsidised Projects and Public Funding

As part of this commitment, some of the projects developed at Hotel Corona de Castilla have received public funding aimed at boosting energy efficiency and the circular economy in tourism businesses.

Hotel Corona de Castilla SA has joined the subsidy programme for Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy projects for tourism businesses (2024) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU. The project published on the hotel’s website is subsidised in accordance with ORDER CYT/460/2024, of 16 May, within the framework of component 14, investment 4, sub-measure 2.

  • Total investment: €19,844
  • Amount of aid: €16,400

2025 Subsidy Programme

Hotel Corona de Castilla SA has also joined the subsidy programme for Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy projects for tourism businesses (2025), also in accordance with ORDER CYT/460/2024, of 16 May.

Name of the action: Investment in energy efficiency improvement with the installation of batteries for self-consumption in the business.

Beneficiary establishment: Hotel Corona de Castilla (Hotel Corona de Castilla SA)

Amount of aid: €81,047.76

Energy Efficiency Project

Tresavotel SL has joined the subsidy programme for Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy projects for tourism businesses 2024, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. This programme aims to promote, in tourism businesses, the reduction of final energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, the improvement of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy. The project is subsidised in accordance with ORDER CYT/460/2024, of 16 May, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies for energy efficiency and circular economy projects for tourism businesses, financed by the European NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of component 14, investment 4, sub-measure 2 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

  • Amount of aid: €42,500

Battery Installation Project

Tresavotel SL has also joined the subsidy programme for Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy projects for tourism businesses 2024, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. Name of the action: Investment in energy efficiency improvement with the installation of batteries for the photovoltaic solar system for self-consumption in the business. This project is subsidised in accordance with ORDER CYT/460/2024, of 16 May, within the framework of component 14, investment 4, sub-measure 2 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Subsidised Projects and Public Funding

As part of this commitment, some of the projects developed at Hotel Canal Olímpic have received public funding aimed at improving energy efficiency, reinforcing the establishment’s sustainability and advancing competitiveness and digitalisation.

Solar self-consumption and thermal envelope improvement project

Within the sustainability initiatives of Fabartel 507 S.L., the hotel has developed a solar self-consumption project aimed at reducing energy expenditure and limiting the establishment’s carbon footprint. This photovoltaic energy project was carried out by Gesternova Servicios Energéticos SA and received funding from the European Union’s Next Generation Funds through the incentive programme linked to self-consumption and storage within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Likewise, a refurbishment and thermal envelope improvement project has been carried out, covered by the Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy Projects for Tourism Businesses programme, funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU, with the support of the General Directorate of Tourism of the Department of Enterprise and Labour.

Complementary support in digitalisation and innovation

Fabartel 507 SL has been a beneficiary of European funds for the improvement of SME competitiveness, with the support of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce’s SME Digital Programme during 2024, for an innovation plan in marketing and commercialisation during 2024-25.

Project for the improvement of energy efficiency and circular economy of tourism businesses in the Community of Madrid

Project funded under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union Next Generation EU, within the framework of component C14.I4, line of action 2, 2023 transfer call. The action published on the hotel’s website is as follows:

Action: Replacement of chillers and photovoltaic installation, in accordance with the lines of use of thermal insulation materials, more energy-efficient technologies or having external elements such as shades or gardens to minimise air conditioning consumption and implementation of photovoltaic systems.
